10 Books On making Connections

Making Connections
This is a book that the students might be able to relate in the aspect of being embarrassed or afraid and they will see that it is alright to be afraid.  (Text to Self)
This book goes through the bad day that Alexander is having and the students might be able to relate to this and how it made them feel.  (Text to self)

 
A family discovers a stray dog at the park while on a picnic and just can’t seem to get that dog off their minds. Finally, they adopt the dog as their own. This is a book to help students with pets or who want pets to relate. (Text to Self)

This book shows a student having trouble learning to read. It might be a good book for some students to relate to when they are also having trouble reading.
This is a book that can be used to relate text to world. It shows the journey they took to get to America. 
This is a text to self book about feeling sad. Its always good to show the student it is OK to feel sad
This is another book that is about feelings and can help students relate to they feelings.

  1. Great list. I can see how some of these would make a direct connection, and how a couple others would ignite the spark to have a conversation about what a student maybe going through and relate it back to the text.

    This is a great list of books for making connections. Some of the books that you've provided are books that were used in the classrooms I aided in this past year. These are great books for any teacher to have in their classroom.
