Columbia College experience

Over all I have had a great experience with Columbia College. It was a bumpy road until I found the right adviser for me who seemed to help me a lot more and understood what it was I was needing. I have done some observations well many observations since I started at MACC in 2012 and even more since I got to Columbia College. I have learned so much in my education courses and I believe that it will help me more when I get to teaching. Although there were some classes not education related that were not my favorite. I believe that things will be more fun for me when I get to teach! I am sure the first few years might be difficult and I will be asking a lot of questions and I can not wait for that. I fell like I will learn more if I am doing it rather than reading a book but this has for sure gave me insight on what is to come. I think life will be easier in the since that my daughter will be starting school when I start teaching so we will be on the same schedule. I can only hope for the best for myself and everyone else who is on this journey as well!

  1. Advisers can make or break the career you have at CC I think. I bet you will be a great teacher and it will be so great being on the same schedule as your daughter. Best of luck!

  2. I agree that some of the non-teaching classes are not fun (CISS 176 and the PSYCH classes) but most of them are pretty relevant and useful (SOCI 270 and the PSYCH classes). I just hope the information sticks with me. I tend to forget stuff I don't put into use soon after I learn it.
