All about me
Front loading
Front loading is basically getting to have a little bit of knowledge of what is in the text they are going to be reading before they read it. It might be going over some vocab words just so that the students know what they mean when they come to it in the text and can comprehend them. This will save them time and allow them to fully know what is going on. I used the Fryer Model to help show a word that was in a test I had to read and it helped say what the word was and gave examples. It also showed them what the word would not be. This is a great idea because we do not want our students to stress or get overwhelmed or even lose interest and shut out of the whole lesson.

Week One Class One
Tonight was an interesting class more so from the fact that my daughter decided to paint by herself when she was told not to and got it all over... During the class I learned that I have a lot to learn when it comes to teaching reading and things that revolve around that. I feel a little nervous about it but I am hoping by the end of this class I will be able to do it with ease. I was excited to see the Madeline Hunter's Lesson Plan Format because I have worked with this format before and it turned out pretty well. Over all I am just excited to see what is to come!
Columbia College experience
Over all I have had a great experience with Columbia College. It was a bumpy road until I found the right adviser for me who seemed to help me a lot more and understood what it was I was needing. I have done some observations well many observations since I started at MACC in 2012 and even more since I got to Columbia College. I have learned so much in my education courses and I believe that it will help me more when I get to teaching. Although there were some classes not education related that were not my favorite. I believe that things will be more fun for me when I get to teach! I am sure the first few years might be difficult and I will be asking a lot of questions and I can not wait for that. I fell like I will learn more if I am doing it rather than reading a book but this has for sure gave me insight on what is to come. I think life will be easier in the since that my daughter will be starting school when I start teaching so we will be on the same schedule. I can only hope for the best for myself and everyone else who is on this journey as well!
