Last Thoughts.
When I started this class I did not appreciate the term reading and what that can bring to the classroom. It is so much more important than I let it be in my mind. I am now leaving knowing that no matter what class I am teaching reading is always there. There are many techniques that can be used to help bring it more into the lesson and get the students thinking of the lesson more than they would with out them. I hope that the joy of reading build more in me because I have never really liked to read. I know it is important and I am making it a point to read everyday even if it is a child book with my daughter. Hope everyone has a great summer and good luck on what ever journey you may be on.
Making lesson plans
At first I was not extremely worried about making lessons. That was until I learned of all that needed to be put into it. I am not going to lie, I got so overwhelmed that I had a panic attack and could not breath. Just thinking of all the things that had to be done in such a sort time, I was just not able to handle it. I am just thankful for the people in this class because they were able to help me understand a little better what I was missing in my lessons and made it much easier. These people know who they are and I could not have gotten through this class without them. Once I figured out what I was missing I was able to get going on my lessons pretty well and they started just coming out like they were nothing. There was just so many techniques to use that I was not able to figure out which to use or how to make them work with the lessons I had already had from a previous class. I am glad it all worked out because I had never had this much trouble in class before and I was extremely worried. The meetings we made to meet up on the weekends just saved me the stress, Thanks EVERYONE for the help. I am so thankful!
Presenting my Lesson
For the first time in this progress, I felt that this was one of the best if not the best observations I have got to be apart of. I felt like I was able to really get to know the teacher and the students. I started to learn their names as well as get to see them really enjoy learning. When making the lesson for my presentation, I was able to ask the teacher questions and she was straight forward with if she thought something was not going to work she was clear as to why and how we could change it to make it better. I felt like this teacher and the whole school made me feel like a teacher in training. I did not just have to sit in the corner and listen to the teacher teach. I helped students. She also let me give my lesson to another class of the same school level so that I could have some practice giving my lesson because this was the first lesson I have ever given to real students. I was very nervous and she made it all go away. I hope to be able to go back to this school for future observations.
